Safe Routes to School is a national movement targeting improved safety and active transportation choices for families and communities. The mission of the local City / PAUSD / PTA SRTS community partnership is to reduce risk to students en route to and from school, and to encourage more families to choose healthy, active, sustainable alternatives to driving solo more often. Join the Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition, which advocates for bicycling infrastructure and programs across Santa Clara and San Mateo counties. Contact SVBC to find the next meeting time for the local Palo Alto team.

Bike Palo Alto is a volunteer organized event encouraging more people to bike more places more often around Palo Alto, safely and comfortably, usually occurring the first Sunday in October (but not in 2020). Meanwhile, check out their Resources page for great tips and maps!

The Bike Exchange is a local organization that repairs bicycles for reuse, distributing them through local charities, and training their volunteers in bike repair at the same time. And a source of fixed up used bicycles.

Palo Alto Pedestrian and Bicycle Advisory Committee (PABAC) is an advisory committee which meets monthly to advise city transportation staff on plans, projects and policies related to bicycling and walking.
