Thanks to the hundreds of bicyclists of all ages who celebrated the regional Bike To Wherever Days by biking to one of our three Energizer Stations in Palo Alto on May 20 and 21. Enthusiastic community volunteers handed out many “Bike To Wherever Day” canvas bags from the Silicon Valley Bike Coalition, as well as the City’s “I Bike Palo Alto” t-shirts, local bike maps and bike safety info. We also answered quite a few route questions, fitted helmets, did some simple adjustments to a couple bikes, and gathered many signatures on our Safe Streets for Palo Alto petition.
Thank you to all the energetic station volunteers who made this event possible! Thanks also to the City’s Safe Routes To School coordinators, Gail and Rose, for helping kids with the fun of riding the bike blender at Mitchell Park, and to Ada’s Cafe for generously providing free coffee for riders at that station.
Ride on!
